Aimia actively leverages the assets of its brands to enrich communities world-wide.
Guiding principles
To fulfill this commitment, Aimia and its brands:
- favour engaged contributions that leverage their strengths, rather than philanthropic donations alone;
- develop and implement community investment programs that support local brand reputation by leveraging operational assets such as loyalty currencies;
- play an active role in the development of solutions to address real community needs in cooperation with various partners;
- build on shared interest among commercial partners, employees and members in community causes; and,
- invest in activities that demonstrate tangible and visible results and which generate social marketing opportunities.
Some examples
- In Canada, the Beyond Miles Program allows Aeroplan Members to donate their miles to eight outstanding non-profit organizations, as well as The Air Canada Foundation program. Since inception in 2006, more than 200 million Aeroplan Miles have been donated. Find out more about Aeroplan’s Beyond Miles Program.
- Our UK team supports the One Foundation, a charity that manufactures consumer packaged goods products and donates all profits to projects across communities in Africa. We offer insight and consultancy services to the One Foundation which has resulted in a number of projects being installed.
- Our team in the US is a very strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity, which they have supported through numerous projects.
